CARF Advertises Fuel Poverty Post

Date published: 19th April 2016

We are increasing our response to fuel poverty!

CARF have today advertised a new post to improve our response to the problem of fuel poverty across Fife.

The 14 hour per week post will work alongside an existing Healthy Heating Adviser and represents an increase in the resources the organisation has to tackle, what is, an increasingly common problem for Fife citizens.

According to the latest Scottish House Conditions Survey, 55,080 (34%) households in Fife are experiencing fuel poverty.  That is over 1 in 3 in our society and CARF is pleased to be playing a significant role in reducing the difficulties individuals and families in our community face.

Audrey Cunningham, CARF’s Financial Inclusion Co-ordinator, and line manager of our fuel poverty project, commented “The new post allows CARF to increase the number of people we can help move out of fuel poverty.  With over 55,000 estimated to be in fuel poverty it is only right that we play a prominent role alongside our partners in alleviating the difficulties faced by those in our communities”.
