Credit Card Companies to Review How They Deal with Persistent Debt Customers

Date published: 12th February 2020

The FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) have told credit card companies to review how they deal with persistent credit card debt customers.

If you are paying the minimum payment to your credit card you may receive a letter from your credit card company telling you that you have persistent debt.

The FCA have told credit card companies to highlight the cost of your credit card interest while you are paying off the balance and give you options and support on how to reduce it.

If you receive one of these letters and would like to discuss your credit card or any other type of debt please call our Money Advice helpline on 03451 400 094, Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 4 pm, or via WEBCHAT where you will receive immediate advice.

You can read the FCA statement.
