Fife Council open Library Consultation

Date published: 31st August 2015

You may be aware that Fife Council are looking to change the way in which libraries are operated across the Fife area.  At present in Fife we have 51 library branches and 3 mobile libraries in service making our library provision the largest of any other Local Authority in Scotland.

Due to budget constraints the Local Authority are now looking at a new operating model for library services and an online consultation has been opened in order to gather as many views as possible on future library services.  As part of the proposals 16 libraries have been identified for potential closure with changes to the operating hours of several other services.  It is imperative that local residents air their views before any final decisions are made.  The consultation will close on Friday 6th November.
