New Year Brings New Challenges for Fife Citizens

Date published: 7th January 2016

2016 will bring with it new challenges to communities across Fife.  That is the view of CARF Chief Executive, Norma Philpott, as Fifers gear up for the introduction of Universal Credit in April.

“Universal Credit is likely to represent one of the biggest challenges yet to individuals and families across our communities” commented Mrs Philpott. “The ability to budget appropriately under increasing pressure is one of the great dangers of its introduction but one we are well placed to assist with”.

In 2014/15 CARF dealt with almost 24000 clients with numerous difficulties and 2016 is unlikely to prove any quieter.  With nearly 70% of issues relating to debt or benefits, CARF have huge experience in helping clients achieve positive outcomes.

Mrs Philpott urged Fifers to contact the organisation at the earliest opportunity, “It is of huge importance that individuals contact us as soon as possible if they feel in difficulty or need peace of mind.  Our advisers are vastly experienced and really can ease the pressure many feel under at this time of year.  Rather than bravely battling on it really is best that we help at the earliest opportunity”.
