What Can You Do in 2016?

Date published: 7th January 2016

2016.  ‘This year, things will be different.’  It’s what we all say.  “I’m going to take more exercise, eat better, stop smoking, lose weight, drink less.”  We all do it.  Every year.  What if this year your goal is to learn new skills and work with a team to provide advice to those facing their own challenges?  Why not make 2016 the year you became a CABFife Adviser.

Citizens Advice and Rights Fife will start a programme of training for volunteer general advisers on Thursday 25th February 2016.  It’s a combination of informal, interactive group sessions (held in Glenrothes on alternate Thursdays), time spent shadowing experienced advisers in your local office as well as some online learning.

You don’t need specific experience of advice giving but we do need you to know your way around a computer and feel comfortable with standard MS Office packages.

For more details of this role, as well as other available roles and an application form, click on the volunteer page.  We are particularly keen to increase the number of volunteer advisers in our Glenrothes, Leven and Cowdenbeath offices.  If you’d like to talk to someone about volunteering first, please contact Catriona Skinner on 01592 765403.

The closing date for applications is Friday 5th February 2016.
