Armed Services Advice Project (ASAP)

Date published: 20th November 2015

Over 7,000 Scottish armed forces veterans received more than £5 million in money they were missing out on thanks to an advice project launched by Poppyscotland and Citizens Advice Scotland.

The Armed Services Advice Project (ASAP) has helped 7,342 people and dealt with more than 32,000 issues since it was launched five years ago (What A Difference, The Ground Breaking Work of ASAP, 2010-2015 Report).

Through a website, helpline and face to face service run by the Scottish Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB), veterans from 10 local authority areas in Scotland have been helped on a number of issues including benefits, debt, finances, housing and employment.

The five year anniversary of the project was celebrated on Wednesday 4th November in Edinburgh.
