Universal Credit

Universal Credit is part of Welfare Reform.  It is designed for those on a low income or out of work and is available in Fife from 11th April 2016 for some people.  It will eventually replace these benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Housing Benefit
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Working Tax Credit

It will currently only affect someone making a new claim for benefits and only if certain eligibility conditions are met.  For more information please click here.
